Community spirit is the driving force on the links at The Principal Charity Classic, and central Iowan's have a great opportunity to benefit area children's programs by raising additional funds through Birdies for Charity.
How does Birdies for Charity work? Participating charities solicit pledges from supporters based on the number of birdies made by Champions Tour players during the three-day tournament. Charities receive 100% of every donation collected and receive a 25% match, or BONUS BUCKS, for reaching $1,500 in pledges. The top 25 fundraising charities will also receive extra BONUS BUCKS up to $2,500.
Bonus Bucks are sponsored and provided by Sammons Financial Group.
Additionally, pledgers have a chance to win great prizes courtesy of John Deere Financial. Prizes include John Deere mowers, grills and snowblowers.
