Iowa PGA Drive, Chip & Putt

NEW THIS YEAR!

JUNIOR GOLFERS!! Participate in a Drive, Chip & Putt event at The Principal Charity Classic.  This challenge is 3-tiered-testing the juniors driving, chipping and putting skills. Junior golfers 17 years old and younger can participate with the chance to compete with a Champions Tour Pro and advance to one of four regional qualifying sites.

The Drive, Chip & Putt event is FREE.  Juniors will need to pre-register for the event.

Disc Golf Open

The Principal Charity Classic will once again host Disc Golf Open on Tuesday, June 1 at Glen Oaks Country Club.  The event is geared toward young professional groups, interns in the Des Moines area and of course disc golf enthusiast. 

Iowa Junior Tour

The Principal Charity Classic will be the title sponsor of the 2010 Iowa Junior Tour.  This is a great new partnership with Iowa PGA. This year will be the 13th year the Iowa PGA Junior Tour has continually offered quality tournament opportunities for junior golfers in Iowa and western Illinois.  Membership has grown to include over 750 juniors and will consist of over 60 events in 2010 that are held across the section from June through mid-August. 

The Iowa Junior Tour continues to grow and enjoy great success thanks in part to Iowa PGA Section Professional who time and time again enthusiastically support junior golf.

The Principal Charity Classic Putt-Putt Challenge

WIN A TRIP to The 2010 Masters

The Putt-Putt Challenge was at various community events throughout the year.  Participants who make a hole-in-one will be entered into a drawing to compete on the 18th green Sunday, June 6, 2010. 

The 18th Green Giveaway will have 2 participants: 1 drawn from the crowd, 1 drawn from hole-in-one winners.  A long putt will be staged and participants will each take one putt.  Closest to the pin or in will win a trip to the Masters for two.  Trip includes roundtrip airfare for two, a two night hotel stay, and two tickets to the final day of play.

Skywalk Golf presented by The Principal Charity Classic was held Feb. 6, 2010 in the downtown Des Moines.  The wintertime tradition is a unique miniature golf tournament that is laid out throughout the downtown skywalk system. 

More 1,800 golfers participated in the 3-course set up with 54 hole sponsors.  86 participants made a "hole-in-one" on the plinko hole.  Congratulations!!!  Hole-in-one winners will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a trip to the 2011 Masters! 

Winning teams in each division

Winners in each division will receive a VIP experience to The Principal Charity Classic.
