An investment in the evolution of the Legacy Project.

In 2024, Principal Charity Classic, with support from Sammons Financial Group, will work with the Greater Des Moines Partnership to invest in the evolution of the Legacy Project.

Originally focused on funding children’s organizations addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Legacy Project has evolved into a new community-driven, work-based learning program.

The Legacy Project will introduce youth to a variety of professional and technical skills that will increase their knowledge of and confidence in financial planning, customer service, teamwork and collaboration, delegation, and communication.

To maximize the impact of the Legacy Project, the Principal Charity Classic has teamed up with the Greater Des Moines Partnership, who will administer the program by creating a standardized curriculum and work-based learning model that will be taught through existing summer youth internship programs throughout Iowa. Funding will also be used to underwrite weekly learning, networking, and skill-building sessions with the summer interns.

Look for more news about the program and curriculum this spring!
