Volunteerism is a core principle of the PGA TOUR and vital to the success of the Principal Charity Classic. Each year, 1,000+ volunteers donate their time to support our event. Volunteers play a vital role in helping the tournament operate smoothly, which ensures that we can maximize our contributions to charity partners.

Operate shuttle carts for patrons with disabilities and patrons needing various accommodations to various drop-off points around the course

Sell and issue daily tickets, manage Will Call and check tickets/credentials at admissions gates. When needed, hand out promotional giveaways as spectators arrive.
Ambassadors

Assist guests with general questions and ensure they receive a positive experience. Ambassadors will be in designated areas for guests to easily locate them. Make sure guests feel welcome and informed about areas they may like to visit during the tournament.
Caddie Hospitality

Duties include welcoming caddies and assisting with various functions inside Caddie tent such as serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Monitor caddie lockers and restock coolers with product when needed.

Responsible for the daily setup and distribution of radios. Check radios in and out and ensure all radios are returned and charged for each day.
Fan Village

Assist with general staffing operations, including the Kids Zone, ensuring fans and vendors receive a positive experience. Make sure guests feel welcome and informed about Fan Zone offerings.
Golf Carts

Control inventory and distribution of golf carts to authorized personnel. Wipe off carts each morning, clean carts in the evenings and charge all carts.
Heroes Outpost

Committee members will serve as a liaison in the Heroes Outpost tent. In this role, volunteers will be responsible for checking on food and beverage and assist with any issues that may arise. Customer service is vital to this committee as we want guests to feel welcomed and appreciated.

Measure the long drives on holes designated by tournament officials. Must be able to work at least two shifts Friday-Sunday.

Ensure players are not disturbed during play, spot balls, assist with starting tents when necessary and enforce crowd control and golf etiquette among spectators.
Office Staffing

Assist with clerical work, answering phones and various public relations initiatives and greeting visitors in the Tournament Office. Volunteers begin working in advance of the tournament.
Player Hospitality & Registration

Duties include welcoming players and providing them with necessary credentials plus general information about the tournament and surrounding area. Assist with providing information to spouses of players on local attractions.

Manage the operations of the practice range and all other practice areas. Duties include distributing range balls, placing the appropriate nameplate to identify each player and collecting caddie bibs.
Pro-Am

Responsible for managing Pro-Am operations. Duties include gift bag assembly and registration of amateur players, and helping guests to their assigned golf carts.

Stock and deliver on-course refreshments to tee boxes and distribute pairing sheets. May require heavy lifting.

Committee members will serve as a liaison to corporate hospitality areas. In this role volunteers will be responsible for checking on food and beverage and assist in any issue that may arise. Help quickly resolve any other issues that may take place and help direct guests to their proper skybox.

Responsible for carrying a two-sided scoring standard, which is a portable status board, and for posting players’ scores to keep spectators posted on how each player stands with respect to par, both in the round being played and cumulatively.

Welcome PGA TOUR Champions players, caddies, Pro-Am players and Honorary Observers to the 1st/10th Tee on their day of play. Announce the starting tee time of each group and the players’ names.
Transportation

Receive, inventory and control issuance of courtesy cars. Meet players, officials and designated guests at airport and assist them with their transportation needs. Drive shuttle vehicles between hotels and course for players’ family members, officials and designated guests. Must be over 25 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. May require early mornings, late nights, or pre-event shifts.

Assist the Golf Channel in updating scoring information for TV coverage. Must be able to walk 18 holes regardless of weather conditions and work all day every day committee reports.

Responsible for the operation of the Volunteer Headquarters during tournament week. Assist with meal services, cleanup and help answer general volunteer questions.

Committee members will serve as drivers for meal and drink deliveries. Responsible for delivering meals to volunteers working on the course. You will need to drive a cart and help load carts with meals and drink coolers.

Operate van shuttles picking up and dropping off volunteers from Wakonda Club and volunteer parking. May require early mornings and late nights.

Record accurate hole-by-hole information for each player in group and transmit this information to Scoring Central via handheld computers. Must have thorough knowledge of golf, be comfortable working with handheld computer and be able to walk 18 holes regardless of weather conditions.
