Whether you love golf or have a heart for the community, volunteering at the Principal Charity Classic is an experience like no other in sports. We rely on the commitment of over 1,000 volunteers to put on a successful event. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and have the opportunity to serve on committees with many different functions. No matter what your background or level of golf knowledge, there is a committee for you!

Operate shuttle carts for patrons with disabilities and patrons needing various accommodations to various drop-off points around the course REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 16 years old and have a valid Driver’s License. Ability to operate a golf cart

Welcome spectators through the tournament’s entrance gates. Sell and scan tickets and assist with spectator entry onto the course. Respond to miscellaneous spectator inquiries. When needed, hand out promotional giveaways as spectators arrive.
Ambassadors

Assist guests with general questions and ensure they receive a positive experience. Ambassadors will be in designated areas for guests to easily locate them. Make sure guests feel welcome and informed about areas they may like to visit during the tournament.
Caddie Hospitality

Duties include welcoming caddies and assisting with various functions inside Caddie tent such as serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Monitor caddie lockers and restock coolers with product when needed.

Responsible for the daily setup and distribution of radios. Check radios in and out and ensure all radios are returned and charged for each day.

Volunteers will work behind the scenes to sort recyclables, compostables, film plastics, bottles, and cans. A key part of this effort includes separating redeemable bottles and cans from regular recycling so they can be taken to Metro Waste Authority, allowing us to donate redemption funds to local nonprofits and strengthen our responsible event operations. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 16 years old, physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs, follow process protocols and handle waste in a safe manner.
Family Zone

Create a fun, welcoming environment for families. Volunteers in this area greet families, assist with scheduled activities, and serve as the main point of contact for vendors. They also help families navigate amenities such as sensory-friendly spaces and comfort areas, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience.
Golf Carts

Tuesday – Sunday
Responsible for all the check-in, check-out, security, and safety of onsite golf carts. The committee will work directly with the Director of Operations on labeling, cart allotment, storage, distribution, return, and charging/gassing each evening. REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 16 years old and have a valid Driver’s License. Ability to operate a golf cart and check/fill gas tanks.
Green Team

This volunteer committee will serve as ambassadors for the tournament sustainability program, promoting eco-friendly practices and enhancing the overall experience for spectators and volunteers during tournament week. This assignment is outdoors.
Heroes Outpost

Committee members will serve as a liaison in the Heroes Outpost tent. In this role, volunteers will be responsible for checking on food and beverage and assisting with any issues that may arise. Customer service is vital to this committee as we want guests to feel welcomed and appreciated.
Honorary Observers

Duties include welcoming Honorary Observer participants and providing them with necessary credentials plus general information about the tournament.
Long Drive Holes
Long Drive Holes
Friday – Sunday
Work in teams to measure the distance of tee shot on specified holes using lasers and flags. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to walk on and off the fairway, operate a headset, clear speech, and good listening skills.
Marshals

Ensure players are not disturbed during play, spot balls, assist with starting tents when necessary and enforce crowd control and golf etiquette among spectators. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk 2 – 3 holes of the golf course unassisted.
Merchandise

Staff and assist throughout the merchandise tent in all aspects such as greeting spectators, running cash register, and helping customers with sizing. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up-to 20lbs.
Office Staffing

Assist with clerical work, answering phones and various public relations initiatives and greeting visitors in the Tournament Office. Volunteers begin working in advance of the tournament.

Duties include welcoming players and providing them with necessary credentials plus general information about the tournament and surrounding area. Assist with providing information to spouses of players on local attractions.
Practice Areas

Responsible for the set up/tear down of the practice facility and the day to day operations of the area. As PGA TOUR Champions professionals enter and exit the range volunteers will be responsible for setting up nameplates that identify each player, providing the players golf balls, collecting caddie bibs, and general assistance. REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift up-to 20 lbs.
Pro-Am
Pro-Am

Responsible for managing Pro-Am operations. Duties include gift bag assembly and registration of amateur players, and helping guests to their assigned golf carts.
Product Distribution

Monday – Sunday
Stock and deliver on-course refreshments, snacks, and meals to tee boxes and various locations around the course for the golfers and spectators. REQUIREMENTS: Operate a golf cart; valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 40lbs.
Sponsor Relations

Committee members will serve as a liaison to corporate hospitality areas. In this role volunteers Provide information and assistance to corporate sponsors and guests to enhance their enjoyment and create loyalty to the tournament. Volunteers will be responsible for checking on food and beverage and assisting in any issue that may arise.
Standard Bearers

Responsible for carrying a two-sided scoring standard, and posting players’ scores to keep spectators posted on how each player stands with respect to par. Having a basic knowledge of the golf scoring system is beneficial but not required. REQUIREMENTS: Ages 13+ who are able to carry the standard (weighing approximately 6lbs.) through the round. Ability to walk 18-hole golf course.

Welcome PGA TOUR Champions players, caddies, Pro-Am players and Honorary Observers to the 1st/10th Tee on their day of play. Announce the starting tee time of each group and the players’ names.

Inventory, transport and stage courtesy vehicles prior to tournament week. Assist with the transportation needs of players and families throughout the tournament. REQUIREMENTS: Valid Driver’s License. Must be at least 25 years old. Pass Motor Vehicle Record check. May require early mornings, late nights, or pre-event shifts.
TV Spotters

Assist the Golf Channel in updating scoring information for TV coverage and drive on-air personalities around the course. REQUIREMENTS: Experienced golf knowledge; ability to communicate clearly, timely and precisely over radio; physically able to walk 18 holes in any weather element. *Special code required.

Volunteer Experience Team will help to enhance the overall experience for PCC volunteers by supporting recruitment efforts, managing key operational tasks, and serving as the primary concierge throughout tournament week. Their work ensures volunteers feel informed, valued, and connected to the event.

Volunteers will set up and maintain Volunteer HQ during tournament week, manage the volunteer check-in process, meal allocation, raffle prizes, and assist in keeping snacks and beverages stocked. Make volunteers feel appreciated and provide them with an environment to relax and dine.
Walking Scorers

Record accurate hole-by-hole information, via handheld PGA TOUR Scoring device, for each player in group and transmit this information to Scoring Central. Volunteers will also have constant voice communication with PGA TOUR staff. REQUIREMENTS: Instructional Session. Ability to walk 18-hole golf course and operate issued equipment, regardless of weather conditions. Have a good understanding of the rules of golf and golf etiquette.
